Journal Citation Reports 2021 Release (JCR 2020 data) - Expected 30th June 2021

Date of news item: 15 June 2021

We are pleased to advise that Clarivate have announced that the latest issue of Journal Citation Reports, which provides 2020 data, is expected to be released to subscribed institutions on Wednesday 30th June 2021.

The new issue will make available a number of new enhancements and developments:

  • Expanded content
  • New metric – The Journal Citation Indicator
  • Early Access Articles

In addition, the 2021 JCR will provide a new visual experience. New graphics will improve the user experience with simpler, more direct searching while affording a deeper look into the data; for example, a view of how a journal’s metrics have evolved over time.

Dual access to the new platform as well as the old one will be available until the end of the year. Users who are more comfortable with the older experience will be able to access the classic version. The older environment, however, will not include the recently added journal content from the Arts & Humanities Citation Index™ and the Emerging Sources Citation Index™, nor will users have access to the new Journal Citation Indicator metric. Title: Journal Citation Reports 2021 Update
The 2021 JCR release due in June will feature the latest refinements and additions to the journal intelligence platform’s existing store of resources. Join our webinar to find out more about how the first of these enhancements will expand the JCR’s coverage of journal literature to reflect the full breadth of research covered in all the journals in the Web of Science Core Collection. Along with its wider coverage, the next JCR release will unveil a new metric, the Journal Citation Indicator, adding more depth, insight and context to the JCR’s range of measures – well beyond a single JIF score.

Should you be unable to attend the webinar on the day, please register and you will receive a recording following the session.
