Q4 Upgrades 2005 - ISI Web of Knowledge Service for UK Education

MIMAS are pleased to announce that Thomson Scientific wish us to advise that the following 'Q4 Upgrades 2005' will be applied at the end of January 2006. Date yet to be confirmed by TS. - Date now confirmed as 29 January 2006. (Updates will be applied 3.00pm Sunday 29 January - no disruption to the service expected.)

Summary: WoK Planned "Q4 2005" Upgrades

For WoK:

  • On the ISI Web of Knowledge home page, expanded links to freely available value-added information.
  • Current Web Contents (CWC), web site reviews data will be added to the ISI Web of Knowledge CrossSearch.

For WoS and all WoK Bibliographic Databases except DII:

  • Home Page Re-Design
  • Direct access will be available to other search modes: General,Cited Ref, etc.,through horizontally displayed buttons.
  • Users may select any database home page as their Start Page
  • A CrossSearch may be launched from the Search Results Summary page
  • Additional Export button "Export to EndNote"

Additional Enhancements:

  • Full-Text Links are established to 35 more Open Access journals
  • WoK OpenURL is upgraded to become compliant with OpenURL 1.0
  • Usage Reports (WURS) are made compliant with Release 2 of the COUNTER Code of Practice for Journals and Databases.

Included will be a bug fix for the Exports of WoK data from the multi-product report as follows:

  1. the data is doubled and in some cases tripled when exported - (fixed)
  2. for the N/A customers they are seeing the fields that are no longer valid (average session length and max actual users) - (fixed)
  3. The N/A appears as -1 in the export - (fixed)
