TGP Enhancement to Service

MIMAS are pleased to announce that following the successful completion of testing of a new site-recognition mechansim (TGP) the ISI Web of Science Service for UK Education will be enhanced on 17th September as follows:

Users with personal Athens usernames will have access *off campus* to the institution-specific facilities:

  • Links to full text (n.b. though some publishers may still implement an IP check)
  • Local Holdings search

The mechanism will support improved communication between ISI products, enabling direct linking between WoS and Current Contents Connect, BIOSIS etc.

In addition TGP adds the potential to offer optional extensions, should they be offered in the future, e.g. Back years.

Please note: On completion of the changeover users 'Saved Searches' will need to be opened with the File-Open browser functions and re-saved. Full instructions – linked from a prominent message on the Service Home page will be available. MIMAS apologises for this inconvenience.
